SGCC2014 Stage 1 Submission deadline is 25th July 2014:

  • If you need extension, then please email the organiser at sgcc@nyp.edu.sg
  • Debriefing for the Top 30 Teams will be held at the following date, time and venue:
    • Date : 15th August 2014
    • Time : 2:00pm until 4:00pm (Batch 1), 2:30pm until 4:30pm (Batch 2)
    • Place: Police Cantonment Complex - Map
    • Schedule: To be announced
    • Purpose : To debrief the teams about their work, so they can improve on it before the Finals in September 2014

  • Zip up the file
  • Use the "Submit Entry" function to submit your zip file!

SGCC2014 Training Workshops : 16th to 19th June 2014

  • The SGCC training workshops will begin on 16th June 2014 and will end on 19th June 2014
  • Please come to Block M and report to the relevant locations as stated in the chart below
  • Reporting Time: 9am. Dismissal Time: 5pm
  • Refreshments will be provided at 10am and 3pm for each training day. Lunch is at own expense.
  • Participants who are attending the Game Design workshops, please bring the following items: Scissors, Ruler, Pen/Pencils/color pencils/markers

27 May 2014 - Stage 1 Submission Requirement update

  • Your submission must have resolution of 1024 X 768 and be in Landscape mode.
  • It should also show the SGCC2014, NYP and SIDM logos at the start of the game

Opening Ceremony is on 16th May 2014!

All participants are invited to the opening ceremony. It is vital to attend this event as the theme and competition briefing will be provided.

Location : Theatre for the Arts (TFA) at Nanyang Polytechnic.
Time : 2pm to 4:30pm
Reporting time: Please come between 1:00pm to 1:45pm.
Attire : School uniform preferred for students.

Refreshment will be provided at 3pm.

SGCC2014: Registration begins today!

The 9th Singapore Games Creation Competition is launched today!

We welcome all students aged 13 ~ 16 year old from secondary schools, independent secondary schools and international school in Singapore to sign up!

SGCC is the largest games creation competition in Singapore with attractive prizes to be won!

This year, we are accepting submissions for the following platforms!

SGCC2014

Singapore Games Creation Competition is launching soon!

Singapore Games Creation Competition will be coming back for the 9th time. We will be inviting students from 13 to 16 years old studying in secondary schools, institutions offering integrated programmes, as well as international schools in Singapore to sign up for this competition!

What's new?

  • New SGCC Website coming! With new tools for easier management of team information for students and their teachers!
  • Hands-on GameArt training workshop in June 2014!
  • Possible Hands-on GameDesign training workshop too in June 2014!

Main Event Components

This competition has several components:

  • Opening Ceremony:
  • All participating teams are invited to attend the opening ceremony at Theatre for Fine Arts at Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) on May/June 2014, where the competition theme, rules and regulations and competition details will be announced.
  • Qualifiers:
  • Participating teams will create a single-level web-based game with their game design documents and a poster. Their work must be submitted end of July 2014. Free 2-day training workshops on GameMaker: Studio will be provided in June!
  • Finals:
  • The top 30 teams from the Qualifiers will be invited to take part in the Finals held from September 2014.
    The finalists will go through an intensive workshop to turn their game into a full-fledged game.
    They will also attend lectures on poster design, advanced game design etc!
    The teams will eventually present their work to a panel of judges!
  • Closing+Prize Ceremony:
  • All the finalists will be invited to this ceremony where the winning teams are announced!

Free Training Workshops

  • We will provide free training on the free and easy to use GameMaker
  • More information will be provided soon!

This competition is open to students from all the secondary schools, institutions offering integrated programmes, as well as international schools in Singapore. Student participants are welcome to

  • Attend the workshops, or
  • Submit their entries or
