SGCC2014 Finals' presentation is on 10th September 2014!

  • Come to the Electronic Theatre, Level 5, Block M, SIDM, NYP at least 30 minutes before your presentation time slot.
  • Your team is welcome to use the Labs at Level 3, Block M for your preparation and practice.

  • If your team is planning to submit an app for Google Play store, then you should submit the following:
    • apk file. Maximum of 50Mb!
    • Game Description, logo, screenshots, etc
    • Check out the details -> Google Play Publishing!

SGCC2014 Finals' submission deadline and information!

  • Your game must be submitted online through SGCC website by 4pm on 9th September 2014
  • GameMakerStudio submissions must be uploaded by 12pm on 9th September 2014
    • We need time to help you to convert the games to HTML5
  • You will also need to submit the following,
    • Logo: 100x100 pixels. PNG format.
    • Presentation Slides

  • We recommend that your team is present in NYP SIDM during the submission process, as we may need to work closely with your teams to publish your game. Your team may need to do debugging to ensure timely submission of your work.

Stage 1 Debriefing Session

  • It will be held at LTM-1 from 2pm to 3pm.
  • Refreshments will be provided from 3pm to 3:30pm
  • All teams will be able to log into their Team Information page to see the comments made by the judges.
  • We hope that the participants use the comments as feedback to improve on their work and come back stronger for next year's competition!
  • Please note that the Judges' decisions are final.
  • This feature will be available after 4pm on 15th August 2015.

The Stage 1 results are finalised...

  • Many judges worked on the judging for 115 entries over the past few days!
  • Each entry was allocated to multiple judges for judging using our *new* online judging system!
  • We are pleased to announce the Top 30 teams who will proceed to the SGCC2014 Finals from 8th to 10th September 2014!
  • All teams which had submitted their entries will be awarded a Certificate of Participation soon.

Stage 1 Submission Deadline is over.

  • The judges have been busy trying out the games, and giving out scores and comments.
  • The CNB Officers have spent the whole day in NYP SIDM and they have just completed their judging at 5:20pm today.
  • We are waiting for the results for the other judges and once they have completed their judging, we will reveal the top 30 teams via the SGCC website and emails.

Announcing the Top 30 Teams:

  • The judges are busy trying out the games, and giving out scores and comments.
  • The earliest date when we can announce the Top 30 Teams will be 1st August 2014.
  • We will accept submissions until 12pm on 31st July 2014, as we need time to publish the games, and the judges need time to judge the games.
  • In the meanwhile, you can play the GAMES now!

  • Due to venue constraints at Police Cantonment Complex, we are changing the location to NYP LTM1
  • Debriefing for the Top 30 Teams will be held at the following date, time and venue:

SGCC2014 Training Workshops : 16th to 19th June 2014

  • The SGCC training workshops will begin on 16th June 2014 and will end on 19th June 2014
  • Please come to Block M and report to the relevant locations as stated in the chart below
  • Reporting Time: 9am. Dismissal Time: 5pm
  • Refreshments will be provided at 10am and 3pm for each training day. Lunch is at own expense.
  • Participants who are attending the Game Design workshops, please bring the following items: Scissors, Ruler, Pen/Pencils/color pencils/markers

Opening Ceremony is on 16th May 2014!

All participants are invited to the opening ceremony. It is vital to attend this event as the theme and competition briefing will be provided.

Location : Theatre for the Arts (TFA) at Nanyang Polytechnic.
Time : 2pm to 4:30pm
Reporting time: Please come between 1:00pm to 1:45pm.
Attire : School uniform preferred for students.

Refreshment will be provided at 3pm.

SGCC2014: Registration begins today!

The 9th Singapore Games Creation Competition is launched today!

We welcome all students aged 13 ~ 16 year old from secondary schools, independent secondary schools and international school in Singapore to sign up!

SGCC is the largest games creation competition in Singapore with attractive prizes to be won!

This year, we are accepting submissions for the following platforms!

SGCC2014

Singapore Games Creation Competition is launching soon!

Singapore Games Creation Competition will be coming back for the 9th time. We will be inviting students from 13 to 16 years old studying in secondary schools, institutions offering integrated programmes, as well as international schools in Singapore to sign up for this competition!

What's new?

  • Online E-learning Training for GameMaker! Starting in February 2014!
  • New SGCC Website coming! With new tools for easier management of team information for students and their teachers!
  • Hands-on GameArt training workshop in June 2014!
  • Possible Hands-on GameDesign training workshop too in June 2014!

Main Event Components

This competition has several components:

  • Opening Ceremony:
  • All participating teams are invited to attend the opening ceremony at Theatre for Fine Arts at Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) on May/June 2014, where the competition theme, rules and regulations and competition details will be announced.
  • Qualifiers:
  • Participating teams will create a single-level web-based game with their game design documents and a poster. Their work must be submitted end of July 2014. Free 2-day training workshops on GameMaker: Studio will be provided in June!
  • Finals:
  • The top 30 teams from the Qualifiers will be invited to take part in the Finals held from September 2014.
    The finalists will go through an intensive workshop to turn their game into a full-fledged game.
    They will also attend lectures on poster design, advanced game design etc!
    The teams will eventually present their work to a panel of judges!
  • Closing+Prize Ceremony:
  • All the finalists will be invited to this ceremony where the winning teams are announced!
