SGCC2013 Stage 2 : The Finals!

We will be having the Finals for SGCC2013 from 9th to 13th September 2013!

The top 25 teams are encouraged to start improving on their game now to a multi-level game with full features!
You can develop your game in GameMaker Studio, GameSalad or Adobe Flash. Screen resolution must be 800X600! Your game must be able to host or hotlink on SGCC website.

Each team will need to submit a poster describing your game.
Specifications: A3-sized poster, Resolution: 3508x4961 pixels and 29.7x42 cm, file format .jpg or .gif format

SGCC2013 stage 1 submissions deadline has been extended until 2nd August 2013!

We are extending the submission deadline by 1 week for the following reasons:

- We have backlog of entries to convert to HTML5 and upload to our server!
- A number of teams have academic issues like tests which caused their schedule to be affected!
- Teams using Game Salad need time to upload their entries to GameSalad Arcade.
- Some teams didn't submit their entries using the required resolution of 800X600, and they have been requested to change it.
- Some teams submitted their works with the splash screen showing SGCC2012, and they have been requested to update it.

SGCC provides free training workshops on GameMaker Studio in June 2013!
We will provide a free 2-day training workshops on GameMaker Studio. There are 4 workshops: 10 & 11, 12 & 13, 17 & 18, 19 & 20 June 2013. There are 20 slots per workshop.
Teams can sign up for any 1 workshop.

Singapore Games Creation Competition is back!
Singapore Games Creation Competition is back for the 8th time. We are inviting students from 13 to 16 years old studying in secondary schools, institutions offering integrated programmes, as well as international schools in Singapore to sign up for this competition!

archive Event Components
This competition has several components:

  • Opening Ceremony:
  • All participating teams are invited to attend the opening ceremony at Theatre for Fine Arts at Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) on 4th June 2013, where the competition theme, rules and regulations and competition details will be announced.
  • Qualifiers:
  • Participating teams will create a single-level web-based game with their game design documents and a poster. Their work must be submitted between 4th June and 26th July 2013. Free 2-day training workshops on GameMaker: Studio will be provided in June 2013!

  • Finals:
  • The top 20 teams from the Qualifiers will be invited to take part in the Finals held from 9th to 13th September 2013.
    The finalists will go through an intensive 4-day workshop to turn their game into a full-fledged tablet game.
    They will also attend lectures on poster design, advanced game design etc!
    On Day #5, the teams will present their work to a panel of judges!
  • Closing+Prize Ceremony:
  • All the finalists will be invited to this ceremony where the winning teams are announced!
