Competition Details

Who should take part?

Whether you are a tech-savvy person, an artist, a gamer, a wannabe game designer or even if you have just learned how to switch on a computer recently, as long as you are a student in a secondary school, school with integrated programme or international school between the age of 13 and 16, we welcome you to join our competition!

Rules and Regulations

  • The Singapore Games Creation Competition is open to all secondary school and ITE students.
  • Students are to form teams of up to 4 members from the same school.
  • Each team is to elect a team leader. The team leader shall be responsible for all coordination with NYP.
  • Students may be requested to provide proof of student status.
  • Each team must nominate a school representative, such as teacher-in-charge or trainer.
  • Each school can send in more than 1 team for the competition.
  • Submit their game entries for the Preliminaries by the deadline.
  • Each team can submit submit only 1 entry.
  • All team members MUST attend the opening ceremony.
  • All activities will be held within the premises of NYP unless otherwise stated.


  • By submitting your game to SGCC, you hereby agree to assign the copyright of your game to Nanyang Polytechnic.
  • Nanyang Polytechnic and/or sponsors of SGCC reserves the rights to develop the game further,and credits may be given to the teams.


How to register?

Register online through the SGCC website. The link can be found in the main page.

Rules and Regulations

Please read the rules first before registering.

  • Participants are requested to form teams of update to 4 members to register.
  • Only online registration is available.
  • Once completed, teams can login with their team name and password to view and/or edit their information.
  • Please note that particulars of team members, as well as the teacher-in-charge, must be completed.
  • Incomplete registration details will not be processed.

Stage 1 : Qualifiers

  • Submit a single-level game prototype which can be deployed on SGCC website
  • Submit through SGCC website before deadline
  • The maximum submission filesize limit is 10Mb
  • The submission requirements for the Qualifiers MUST be adhered to.
  • The teams shortlisted for the Finals will be released about a week after the Qualifiers.
  • Comments from judges will be made available soon after the Finalist teams are announced.
  • The top teams from the Qualifiers will proceed on to the Finals.

Stage 2 : Finals

  • Attend the debriefing session to understand why and how the Top 30 teams were selected for the Finals.
  • Submit a complete web-based game which can be deployed on SGCC website
  • Submit through SGCC website before deadline
  • The maximum submission filesize limit is 10Mb
  • Present your game to a panel of judges on Presentation Day.
  • Teams are encouraged to submit games on Google Play! store to win extra prizes!

Game Design Consultation Workshops


  • We replaced Training Workshops on Game Programming, Game Art and Game Design with Game Design Consultation Workshops
  • Places for these workshops are limited and allocated on a first come first serve basis. Please register early to avoid disappointment.

Online Training Workshops


  • We provide training materials online, so that participating schools can use our training materials during their weekly CCA sessions.
  • Training are provided on the following topics:
    • Game Programming
    • Game Art


  • Free for all participants
  • Training materials are provided on the following topics:
    • Game Programming : GameMaker Studio and Construct 2
    • Game Art

The rules and regulations depicted are correct at the time of publishing. The Organising Committee reserves the right to add, delete and/or vary the said rules and regulations at any time as it deems fit.
